Looking to find acoustic guitar players in the generally Orlando-ish area While we will never say no to newbies, please be aware that this is not a "group lesson". It's expected that, at the very least, you know the basic chords, you know some songs, can basically keep time, and can follow along with other players. If you are not sure if you are far enough along, then by all means come and check it out. But be aware that the goal of this group is for players to play music, and not to provide b …
We gather the 1st Thursday of every month @ 7pm and in the cafe dinning area of Nature’s Food Patch every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Find peace and soul-connection through music. I retired last year and thought learning to play guitar would be fun. Learning and playing in small groups with a volunteer instructor would be more fun than learning chords on my own. As a new retiree, I look forward to meeting interested players and students of all ages, skill-level, and backgrounds. I suspect there are others interested who might not be interested in paying for individual instruction. A weekly or bi-weekly get together is what I think might work. Ideas?
This group is for people who want to learn and/or practice the Venezuelan National Instrument: El Cuatro and who would like to practice their Spanish. We meet in Carrollwood, every two weeks. The "Cuatro" is very similar to the Ukelele, except the G-string is tuned an octave lower. If you don't want to play the instrument but would like to enjoy listening to Venezuelan music, you are also welcome to join us!
There are no upcoming Meetups.
This is a group of people who love to play an instrument, sing or both. We play in nursing homes and assisted living facilities from "chorded music", ie. check out www.chordie.com as an example. We play a one hour program consisting of 20 songs. We furnish the music, you furnish your talents. We are NOT professionals but people who just love to make music for others. Practice is at The Barrington on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. We play for FREE, but sometimes accept …
